Rites Held Thursday For Mrs. W. B. Miller
Funeral services for Mrs. Lily Christopher Miller were held from the Ryan Funeral Home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. C. E. Lookingbill officiating.
Organ music was played at the opening and the closing of service.
The casket bearers were Clarence Daugherty, Mervin Gardner, Ab Harlow, M. E. Hall, Jack Newman and Ray Tendall.
Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.
Obituary
Lily Nora Christopher Miller, widow of William Boyd Miller and daughter of John and Isabel Christopher, was born on farm in Story county, June 16 1883. She died at the home of her daughter in Iowa Falls, November 1, 1955 at the age of 72 years, 4 months and 15 days.
Mrs. Miller grew to womanhood in the vicinity of Cambridge. On January 20, 1915, she was married to William Boyd Miller of Woodward, Iowa, at Des Moines. To this union two daughters were born.
In May 1927, the family moved to Nevada where they have since resided. Mrs. Miller had been in poor health for about two months before her death. She is survived by two daughters, LaVon, Mrs. Floyd Mitchell of Rockford, Illinois, and Jeanne, Mrs. Norval Smith of Iowa Falls, three grandchildren, Marjorie Mitchell; Allen and Lynette Smith, four sisters, Mrs. Carrie Potter of Boone, Mrs. Emma Gibson of Maxwell, Mrs. Gertie Wheelock of Ames, and Miss Lola Christopher of Nevada, and one brother, Willie Christopher of Story City, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
