Services Wednesday For Stephen Michael Lasko

Funeral services for Stephen Michael Lasko, 18, were held from the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. David Ash officiating.

The many beautiful flowers were arranged by Mrs. Harold Jacobson and Mrs. Pauline Eddy. Mrs. Norman Dobson, organist, played appropriate music before and after the service.

The casket bearers were Lawrence Chapman, John Gravitt, Jr., Theodore Holub, David Lasko, Frank Lasko and E. J. Sullivan.

Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.

OBITUARY

Stephen Michael Lasko was born March 8, 1937 to Michael and Ivadel Lasko in Des Moines, Iowa. He was baptized into the First Methodist church of Des Moines as an infant. He suffered an injury to his head when he was eleven months old but was happy and well most of the time until he became completely ill at the age of two years and eight months. He underwent brain surgery five times but it was never possible for him to regain health and at the age of five and a half he went to the Woodward State Hospital where he spent the remainder of his life as a patient.

Stephen passed away at 4:10 Monday morning, March 7, 1955, just one day before his eighteenth birthday. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Picht, his twin brother, David Thomas Lasko, his sister, Dicta Louise Picht, maternal grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thomas all of Nevada, and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Anna Lasko of Albia, and numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael, his grandfather, Andrew Lasko, and his uncle, Tommy Lasko.
