Funeral Rites For Mrs. John Hove At Story City Church
Funeral services for Mrs. John Hove was held Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 26 at 2 p.m. at the St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City. The Rev. George C. Strum officiated. Mrs. Alfred Jacobson, organist accompanied Mrs. Robert Hermanson who sang two favorite hymns of the deceased, "Tank Naaer engang" and "Sorg O kjaere fader du" in Norwegian.
Burial was in the Story City Municipal cemetery.
Pallbearers were Oscar Sunnoe, Clarence Hove, Virgil Hanson, Bloyd Iverson, Roger Iverson and Helmer Satre.
Life Sketch
Mrs. Elizabeth Hove was born in Clear Lake Township, Hamilton county, August 30, 1873. Her parents were Ingeborg Satre and Bard Everson, Mr. and Mrs. Baard Iverson. She and her late husband farmed near Stanhope, until they moved to Story City in 1924. She has been a resident of the Story City Sunset Home the past eight years.
Mrs. Hove died at the Story City Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient three weeks, on Sunday morning, September 24. She was 88 years old.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1951. Survivors include one son, Haldor Hove, Northfield, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Louis Danielson, Miss Bertha Oppedal of Story City and two brothers, Isaac Oppedal of Story City and Imbert Oppedal of Jewell.
