DEATHS
Mrs. Hazel Grine Krough, daughter of Bertle and Briths Grinde was born in Story City, April 28, 1909 and died at her home Saturday, May 30.
Funeral services were held from Bethel Lutheran Church, Story City, Tuesday, June 2 at 2 p.m. Rev. William A. Gregerson officiated. Rev. A. J. Bringle and Chaplain M. C. Hagedorn of Bethany Manor each brought a message to the family.
Mrs. Homer Olson and Mrs. Raymond Romsey sang several numbers with Mrs. Mike Smuck at the organ.
Pallbearers were Robert Olson, Leonard Lee, Archie Swenson, Arnold G. Johnson, Donald Lee and William Tjernagel.
Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.
Mrs. Krough was a faithful member of Bethel Lutheran Church, where she had been baptized and confirmed by the Rev. G. O. Paulsrud.
She attended and graduated from the Story City Public schools in 1927 and also graduated from Capitol City Commercial College in Des Moines in 1929.
In 1933, she married Russell Krough of Marshalltown.
At one time, Mrs. Krough was chief operator at the Story City Telephone Company. Later she was employed as secretary at Moore's Dairy in Ames and for the past two years she had been employed at Bethany Manor.
Survivors include one son, Robert Krough of Story City; one daughter Mrs. Malcolm (Barbara) Evers, Sioux Falls, S.D.; six grandchildren, Deborah, Diane and Todd Krough and Denise, Robert and Michael Evers; three sisters and two brothers, Hannah Grinde and Sylvia Grinde of Story City; Mrs. Carroll (Julia) Lura, McCallsburg, Tom Grinde, Des Moines, and Martin Grinde of Ackley.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
