STORY CITY MAN DIED SUDDENLY

SAMPSON GROTNESS, CONTRACTOR HAD LIVED THERE NEARLY 50 YEARS.

Story City, Feb. 13--Definite arrangements for the funeral of Sampson Grotness, 73, who died at this home here early Thursday, were not made at noon today.

Heart failure caused the death of Mr. Grotness after being confined to his bed for but three days although he had been a sufferer from ulcers of the stomach for fifteen years.

Mr. Grotness was a native of Norway, where he was born June 10, 1857. He was married there November 19, 1880 and came to America and located in Story City about two years later.

Besides his wife, seven children and four brothers survive. The children include: Mrs. Torris Fortune of Huron, S. D.; Mrs. Harry Heers of Corona, Cal.; Mrs. R. R. Hobart of Des Moines, Mrs. Milford Boots of Hampton, Herman of Story City, Mrs. Thelma G. Haller of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Clarence Stangeland of Jewell. One brother lives in Kansas City, Mo., one is in Minnesota and two still live in Norway.
