OBITUARY
Funeral services for Mrs. Andrew Lande, longtime resident of the Huxley community, were held April 24 at the Fjeldberg Lutheran church with the Rev. M. H. Rye officiating.
Mrs. E. D. Dobbe sang a solo "I Need Thee Every Hour" and Rev. and Mrs. M. H. Rye sang a duet "Jesus."
Pallbearers were Orrie Slattenow, Lyle Risvold, Sherman Risvold, Gerhard Vespestad, Everett Lande, Glen Cleveland. Burial was in Fjeldberg cemetery.
Relatives attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Don Coddington of Crystal Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Diebler of Waterloo, Mr. and Mrs. Orrie Slattenow of Iowa Falls and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Cleveland of Knoxville.
Sina Slattenow, daughter of Byron and Madilla Slattenow was born Dec. 11, 1883 at Kelley and passed away on April 22 at Woodland nursing home in Des Moines at the age of 71 years. She had been bedfast for the past six years.
On May 17, 1917, she was united in marriage to Andrew Lande at Kelley. To this union was born one son, Arda.
She is survived by her son and three grandsons of Huxley; two sisters, Mrs. Millie Risvold and Mrs. Tom Lande, both of Huxley; three brothers, Severn Slattenow of Toronto, S. D., Deo Slattenow of Des Moines and Anlin Slattenow of Crystal Lake.
