Virginia Houston Called by Death This Morning

Virginia Houston, age ten, youngest daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Bush Houston died at her home 1135 Lincoln Avenue this morning at 7:30, after an illness of about ten days.

Spinal meningitis following an infection of the frontal sinus, was the cause of death.

As soon as the sinus trouble developed it was realized that her condition was serious and nothing was left undone to arrest the progress of the trouble and effect a cure but to no avail.

Local physicians were called into consultation in the case and some of the best leading specialists in the central west were called in on the case.

The grief stricken father and mother worked continuously with the doctors and nurses in the care of the child, but form the first it appeared that the case would be beyond mortal effect.

Virginia was born in Nevada, ten years ago the twenty-eighth of last October, and had lived in Nevada with the exception of the short period of time the family lived at Mason City.

She was a bright, lovable child and her death will be a saddening cloud in the home, where her father, mother and sister Florabel are left to mourn her death.

The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Methodist church, after which interment will be in the Nevada cemetery.
