PIONEER ZEARING WOMAN IS DEAD
FUNERAL OF MRS. N. R. CLIFT HELD THERE -- DIED AT IOWA CITY
Special to the Journal.
Zearing, April 9--Funeral services for Mrs. N. R. Clift, pioneer woman of the Zearing community, who died at th home of her daughter, Mrs. Mable Anderson, in Iowa City, Monday, were held at the Evangelical church at Zearing, at 1:30 today, after which interment was in the Zearing cemetery.The Clifts came to Zearing when the town was laid out in the early '80s, and Mr. Clift engaged in the grain business there for over a quarter of a century.
The husband died about three years ago, and about the same time the second son, Dr. Guy Clift of Des Moines, died.
Surviving are two sons and two daughter. The sons are S. R. Clift of Ames and Ray Clift of Iowa City, while the daughters are Mrs. Mable Anderson of Iowa City and Mrs. Bertha Anderson of Iowa Falls.
