Theo. Baldus Funeral Held This Afternoon
Funeral services for Theo. W. Baldus, 75, of 618 Crawford avenue, Ames who died at Mary Greeley hospital Saturday from complications incident to advanced age, were held this afternoon at two o'clock at the Adams Funeral Chapel, Ames, after which interment was in the Ames cemetery.
The services were in charge of Rev. H. A. Browning of the Ames Church of Christ.
Mr. Baldus who had lived in Ames for the past eleven or more years was a pioneer resident of northeast of Gilbert, having owned and operated a farm four miles south of Story City in Lafayette township.
Mr. Baldus was born in Cook county, Illinois but came to this county 72 years ago with his parents. Practically all his life was spent in Story county.
Surviving relatives include his wife, five children and two brothers. The children are Clarence of Kenyon, Minn.; Dr. Edward L. of Kimberly, Minn.; Albert of Story City, Mrs. Lena Howland of Milford township and Miss Ida Baldus at home. Clarence and Edward came home from Minnesota Friday and had a short visit with their father before his death. the brothers include William of Ames and George of near Story City. A sister of Mrs. Baldus, Mrs. Lena Peteplace of Moneta, Iowa, also came Sunday evening.
The deceased was a cousin of Mrs. George Blink of 724 Tenth street, Nevada.
