PIONEER RESIDENT DIED MONDAY
Funeral services are being held today, Thursday, for John S. H. Jondall, at 1:00 from the home here, in charge of Rev. S. T. Nelson, and at 2:00 o'clock in Bergen church, Roland, in charge of Rev. M. O. Sumstad. Burial in Roland cemetery.
Mr. Jondall bad been in poor health for some time, and Friday evening was taken suddenly ill with a paralytic stroke from which he never regained consciousness. The wife and children were at his bedside at the time of his death.
John S. H. Jondall was born in Hardanger, Jondall, Norway on Sept. 15, 1869, and died at his home on Monday, Dec. 1, 1941, at the age of 72 years, 2 months and 45 days.
He came from Norway at the age of 22 years, and has resided in this community 45 years.
He was united in marriage to Martha Monson, and to this union nine children were born, three of whom having passed away. Those surviving are his wife; four daughters. Mrs. Jas. Quam of Eugen, Ore., Mrs. Frank Hurley of Des Moines, Mrs. Josephine Luft of Chicago and Mrs. Harry Jacobson of Story City, and two sons, Alfred and Milford Jondall, both of Chicago.
