DIED SUNDAY NIGHTMrs. Sam Jondall, 74, long time resident of the Roland community, passed away at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan J. Sampson, near Roland on Sunday night following an illness which had kept her bedfast for the past four months.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, with prayer service at the Sampson home at 1:30, followed by the funeral service at the Salem church at 2 p. m., with the Rev. Olaf Holen officiating. Burial will be in the Roland cemetery.
Mrs. Jondall was born in Lee county, Ill., on August 13, 1870, a daughter of Knute and Bertha Prescott and is the last of six children born to them. She came to Iowa with her parents as a young, girl and was married to Sam Jondall on April 9, 1891, the marriage having been performed by the late Rev. C. C. Holter.
She had always lived in the Roland community. She was a faithful member of Salem Lutheran church.
Mrs. Jondall is survived by four children: Clifford and Mrs. Ivan J. Sampson of Roland, Truman of Alden and Floyd of Hopkins, Minn. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren. Her husband and 3 sons preceded her in death.
