Dianne Lynn Hugdahl, 68, of Ames met her Lord and Savior on September, 8, 2017.

Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 15, from 5 PM to 8 PM, at the Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada with a Rosary at 5 PM and a vigil service at 7:30 PM. The Funeral Mass will be Saturday, Sept. 16 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Ames, at 10 AM with a luncheon to follow.

Dianne was born Oct. 15, 1948, in Mondovi, WI, to Rudolph and Evelyn (Mickelson) Bauer. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and Mondovi High School. She graduated from the UW, Eau Claire, with a history major. She then taught history in Altoona, WI.

She moved to Boulder, CO, in 1974 and married Rick Hugdahl on Oct. 11, 1975. They moved to Wisconsin and Minnesota before settling in Ames, IA, in 1984. In Ames Dianne worked for the City of Ames teaching aerobics and exercise classes, for Hach Company as the Wellness Coordinator and for the Ames Community School District as a teacher.

Dianne loved her Catholic faith and often attended daily Mass. She was an avid runner and enjoyed sledding, biking, horseback-riding, and many other outdoor activities. She loved being with her kids, grandkids, relatives and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Rick, of Ames; her daughters, Jessica (Scott) Manske of Algona, IA, Andrea (Matt) Ansnes of Eagle, CO; sons, Joseph (Sarah) of Falls Church, VA, David, Ames, IA; eight grandchildren, Tyler, Alex, Nathan, and Jack Manske, Kate and Van Ansnes, James and Thomas Hugdahl; brothers James (Joyce) Bauer, David (Kathie) Bauer; sisters-in-law Sallie Bauer, Lee Bauer-Annen, Gerri Bauer, Sharon (Jim) Cohen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John (in infancy), William, Roger, and Loren Bauer; sister, Mary (Bill) Craig.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the Bliss Cancer Center, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church or St. Cecilia Catholic Church, all in Ames, IA.

Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
