HOCHSTETTLER CHILD DEAD.
Family Sadly Afflicted With the Influenza
Lloyd Franklin Hochstettler, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Hochstettler*, who live on the old Gilmore farm northwest of this city died Thursday afternoon at 5:00 of pneumonia following influenza. The body will be taken to the Dunkard cemetery south of Maxwell this afternoon where it will be interred following brief services at the grave. The boy was born February 23, 1911.
Several other members of the family are very seriously ill, there being eight down in the home at this time. The mother is in very serious condition and the father was but recently released from a Des Moines hospital where he had submitted to a severe operation.
The family are in a sad condition indeed, and while they have been receiving much volunteer assistance in the way and care everything possible has been done for them, their lot has been a hard one combating the disease.
*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Lloyd Franklin Hochstetler was and the son of Frank L. Hochstetler and Minerva Miller, not "Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Hochstettler" as stated.
