From the Nevada Representative July 19, 1907

The ashes of B. J. Blaney, the first member of Marshall lodge, No. 108, A. F. and A. M., were taken from Ames to Marshalltown Saturday and interred in the Masonic lot in Riverside. Mr. Blaney died in the early 80's, and his body was buried in the Ames cemetery, with Masonic honors. As the grave had never been marked the Masonic fraternity of Marshalltown requested that the ashes be disinterred and placed in Riverside and this was done. An escort from Marshall lodge met the remains at the station and accompanied them to the cemetery.
