OBITUARY

DEATH OF MRS. SARAH COYNE

Mrs. Sarah Coyne, widow of ths late Patrick Coyne, died at her home in Milford township northeast of Nevada Tuesday afternoon as the result of debility incident to old age She was born near the city of Roscommon in the county of the same name in Ireland December 20, 1819, and died near Nevada, Iowa, February 5, 1907, aged 87 years, 1 month and 16 days. She was reared and married in Ireland, and with her husband and three eldest children came to America in 1846 They settled on a farm near Shannon, Carroll county, Illinois, but removed from there in 1873 to Story county and located upon the farm in Milford township. Mrs. Coyne was a devout member of the Catholic church and a woman most worthy and faithful in all her duties in life. She was the mother of twelve children and leaves of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren between seventy and eighty descendants. Her surviving children are her sons Thomas and John of Marshalltown and William of Nevada, and her daughter, Mrs. Sarah Jones of Nevada, Mrs. Ellen Kersey of Grand Junction and Mrs. James Hollowell of Ruthven. She also leaves a brother, Martin Hoban, who was a member of the family on the home farm in Milford.

The funeral of Mrs. Coyne will be conducted from St. Patrick's church Thursday forenoon at ten o'clock, and the interment will be in the Catholic cemetery.
