Death of Mrs. Vincent Tomlinson

The death is reported from Boone of Mrs. Elizabeth Tomlinson, wicow of Vincent Tomlinson. The Tomlinsons were early residents of Nevada and were well and most favorably known to all the older settlers here. They lived here during the war; and Mrs. Tomlinson remained at home while her husband went to the front as a sergeant in the 32d Iowa. They were people of character and force and in their time were identified with what was best in the community. They removed to Boone something like forty years ago, and there spent the remainder of their lives, Mr. Tomlinson dying a number of years ago. They had one son and one daughter. The son Clinton was a man of considerable prominence and was at one time editor of the Boone Republican and again of the leading paper at Springfield, Missouri. He afterwards resided in Chicago and New York and died about two years ago. The daughter is Mrs. Carringer of Boone, and it was at her home that Mrs. Tomlinson passed away.
