Obituary for Kathleen R. Drummond

Kathleen "Kathie" Drummond was born December 23, 1947 to Roy and Billie (Wood) Drummond in Ames. Kathie graduated from Ames High School, Class of 1966, and then attended AIB College of Business in Des Moines. She worked as a legal secretary for the State of Iowa for eight years, and was a lifelong member of Ames United Church of Christ.

Kathie passed away at 69 years of age on March 21, 2017 at Mary Greeley Medical Center.

Kathie is survived by her son, David (Carla) Preston of Ankeny; her grandson, Carl Preston of Ankeny; her brother, Jim (Lesa) Drummond of Jewell; and her nieces, Nichelle (Shane) Drummond-Hall and Dee (Mark) Drummond-Hoefer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; great-nephew, Elijah Hall; and many aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa at www.arl-iowa.org or the family.

Adams Funeral Home in Ames is assisting the family with arrangements.
