Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Bruce David Hall was born April 25, 1960 to Alyce (Shore) Ward in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from Urbandale High School in 1978. Bruce married the love of his life, Lori Jean Suhrbier, on August 3, 1985 at Augustana Lutheran Church in Manson, Iowa. He worked as a kitchen designer for Moehl Millwork in Ankeny. Bruce had been a member of Slater Baptist Church in Slater for over 15 years. Over the past several years, Bruce’s faith was renewed. He made it his mission to engage Christians in conversation in order to challenge them in defending their faith, and to help unbelievers know Jesus. He regularly taught Christian Apologetics classes across the state of Iowa.

Bruce was a voracious reader, loved to learn, and loved to give gifts. He enjoyed all kinds of music (despite his lack of musical ability) and could answer any question about World War II or the battle of Gettysburg. Most of all, Bruce was a loving husband and devoted father.

Bruce passed away unexpectedly March 20, 2017.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Lori Hall; two children, Abigail (Eric) Crawford and Matthew (Stephanie) Hall; his parents, Frank and Alyce Ward; his sister, Barbara (Michael) Duffy; two brothers, Greg (Amy) Ward and Michael Ward; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorials may be addressed to the family.

Soderstrum Funeral Home in Slater is assisting the family with arrangements.
