Death of Mrs. Elzina Kuhn

Mrs. Elzina Kuhn died Saturday, February 27, at her home in Fernald, aged nearly 62 years, and her funeral was conducted on Tuesday, March 2, by Rev. A. E. Isham. Her fatal illness of about two weeks duration, had called all the children around her, and they remained for final services.

Elzina Apple was born in Indiana April 21, 1847, was married in that state in December of 1867 to Edward Kuhn; came with him the following March to Johnson Grove, Story county, Iowa, and settled on the farm which was her home till she moved to Fernald two years ago. There her children were born and reared, Morris, Frank, Etta (Mrs. McCowan) and Ella (Mrs. Geo. Cline) all now of Palo Alto county; and Jesse, Alba, Ina (Mrs. Andrew Picht) and Elvira, who reside in Story county. Mr. Kuhn passed away in 1890. Through the trying experiences of pioneering, and rearing a large family and in the manifold obligations of life, Mrs. Kuhn carried her part worthily, and the very large attendance at her funeral testified to the esteem in which she was held.
