OBITUARY

DEATH OF J. F. LOUCKS

Advices come today of the death last night at Hot Springs, South Dakota, of J. Frank Loucks, who for several weeks had been there for the benefit of his health. The news, however, is no surprise; for it had for several days been understood that his condition was critical. Mr. Loucks had for a considerable time been suffering from a cancer on the side of his neck, and successive operations and other treatment had not stopped the growth. It has bee supposed that the end would come quickly sometime, and the beginning of the end did come with a stroke of apoplexy Friday, and from this his death followed as stated.

Mr. Loucks was somewhat over sixty years of age, and he had been a resident of Story county for great many years. He formerly lived on his farm in the southeastern part of Nevada township; but for several years he had occupied his home at Oak street and 4th avenue south. Mrs. Loucks will start home with his body sometime today or tonight, and it is supposed that she will arrive here at midnight tomorrow night. Arrangements for the funeral are not yet made; but a funeral sometime Friday seems probable.

Mrs. Loucks arrived home last night with the body of her husband, the late Frank J. Loucks, who died at Hot Springs, South Dakota, on Tuesday night. The funeral will be conducted from the Methodist church Saturday forenoon by Rev. Shaw.
