OBITUARY

Death of Mrs. Lulu Butt-Burkett

Mrs. W. E. Burkett, whom Nevada people remember as Lulu Butt, died Monday, February 8th, at her home in Livingston, Montana, aged about thirty-eight years.

Mrs. Burkett was the youngest of the Samuel Butt family, a family who from an early day resided on Pine street where E. F. McKim is erecting a new residence Her elder sisters being in homes of their own, she cured for her mother during the fatal illness of the latter in the early nineties; kept the old home for her brother Charles for a while and then migrated with him to Livingston, Montana, whence their sister, Mrs. Rosa Tate and family had preceeded them. There they have resided since, there Lulu was happily married about two years ago, and there her life has closed as stated. The brief death announcement per telegram omitted details. The entire Butt contingent in Livingston were reported in good health a short time ago. The death of Mrs. Burkett makes the first break in the group that grew to manhood and womanhood in the Butt home specified. The survivors are (Belle,) Mrs. George James of Story City; (Rosa) Mrs. Tate of Livingston, Montana; (Millie) Mrs. Jorgenson of Dakota; (Anna) Mrs. Gibson of Illinois; and Charles of Livingston, Montana. They all have in their sorrow the sympathy of those who knew and esteemed the entire family in their Nevada home.
