DEATH OF JAS. W. COOK

James W. Cook died a quarter past one o'clock this afternoon as the result of a general breaking down which has been in progress for several weeks. During this time his condition has at times seemed to be very critical, and again it has appeared that he might live for some time. He was worse last night; but this morning there was less alarm about him, and his death early this afternoon is in consonance with the uncertainty that has marked his general condition since the beginning of his illness. Mr. Cook was 74 years of age last August, and he had been for many years a resident of this county. He formerly lived on his farm about two miles east of Nevada; but for several years he had lived on the eastern edge of town. He leaves a large family, and friends throughout the neighborhood where he was best known. No arrangements for the funeral have yet been made.
