Death of Mrs. Maland

After a lingering illness of two years, Mrs. Andrew Maland died last Sunday evening at her home in Slater surrounded by her family. She had been known to be in critical condition for over a week and the end did not come unexpectedly. Mrs. Bessie Wald-Maland was born about thirty-six years ago in Polk county where she grew to womanhood. She was daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Wald and since the family removed to Slater she has been a resident of this town. She was married to Andrew Maland seven or eight years ago and leaves to mourn her untimely death, a husband and two children of tender years, besides three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon. Deceased was a woman of excellent character, loved and respected of all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance. It is with a feeling of deep sorrow that we chronicle he demise while yet in the prime of life. To the bereaved family we offer our most sincere sympathy in the hour of affliction. The loss of a loving wife and mother is truly an irreparable one, but her memory is that of a devoted life which has noat been lived in vain.
