OBITUARY
Death of Fredrick Schauper
Mr. Frederick Schauper died at his home on West First Avenue North in this city Monday evening a few minutes after 6 o'clock. The cause of his death was diabetes, a disease that did not reach an accute stage until some three weeks ago, since which time its progress had been rapid terminating fatally as stated.
Mr. Schauper was a native of Wisconsin and was born near Milwaukee August 20, 1848 and died June 15, 1908 aged a little less than sixty years. In 1870 he was married to Minnie Schultz near Milwaukee and the same year they located in De Kalb, Illinois, and in 1874 came to Story county, Iowa, in some portion of which his home has been located. He lived in Sherman, Lincoln and Warren townships, mostly in Warren. He located in Nevada in 1901 buying and occupying the residence in which he died. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Emma Harris, and four sons, H. C., F. D., John and Andrew, and five grand children. Mr. Schauper was an unassuming man, but a man of worth, interested in school matters, a good citizen and helpful to the community in which he lived. His funeral service will be conducted from the family residence tomorrow at 11 a. m. and will be conducted by Rev. Mr. Lentz of the Lutheran church, with whose work and influence Mr. Schauper was in sympathy. The burial will be in Nevada cemetery.
