Mrs. Amiel Mathiasen who lives about four miles southwest of here took her own life Friday morning. It is said that she had for come time indicated a mental derangement in saying she was going to commit the deed. As a precaution the husband took his rifle from the accustomed place in the house and placed it where his wife could not see it, but of late she had been so much better that he took it and put it back in its former place. Friday morning after breakfast she stepped into the kitchen and got the gun, which she had loaded and shot herself. She leaves a two months old babe. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sawyer of Gilbert Station. The funeral services were held Sunday at Gilbert.
