Dean William Trickey, 84, of Nevada, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016, at Story County Senior Care in Nevada.

Dean was born October 22, 1932, the son of Benjamin J. and Winifred (Himmel) Trickey. He graduated from high school in Springfield, South Dakota and served in the United States Army from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1955. Dean was a member of the Nevada Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of Nevada, William F. Ball Legion Post #48, Nevada Masonic Lodge, Central Presbyterian Church in Nevada and had served seven years with the Nevada Fire Department.

Dean enjoyed golfing and watching football, basketball and baseball. He was an avid Iowa State Cyclones and Chicago Cubs fan.

Dean is survived by his sons: Kim (Gloria) Trickey of Ripon, CA and Craig (Becky) Trickey of Ames; his grandchildren: Chad (Jami) Trickey, Teresa Trickey and Kristopher Trickey; three great-grandchildren; and his special friend, Ann Brown of Des Moines. Dean was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Ben Trickey and his sister, Glendean.

Dean has been cremated and memorial services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mainstream Living.

Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
