Troy William Tjelmeland, 23, of Ames, passed away Monday, December 19, 2016, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Troy was born March 10, 1993, in Boone, the son of Dale and Wendy (Terry) Tjelmeland. He graduated from Nevada High School in 2011 and had attended DMACC. Troy enjoyed 4 wheelers, animals, music, traveling and watching YouTube. He loved cars, especially Audi.

Troy is survived by his parents: Dale and Wendy Tjelmeland of Nevada; his brother, Joshua Tjelmeland of Nevada; his maternal grandmother, Phyllis Terry of Nevada; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Troy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Talmer and Stella Tjelmeland and his maternal grandfather, Swan Terry.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday, December 23, at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Mike Maddick officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Story County Animal Shelter or NAMI of Central Iowa in memory of Troy.
