OBITUARY
WILLIAM ABBOTT.
William Abbott, well known citizen of Nevada, died at his home in this city about three o'clock on Thursday morning. He had been ailing for about six months and had bee distinctly ill for about three weeks, but had been confined to his bed for only about a week. The deceased was born in Pennsylvania February 14, 1844, and died as stated at Nevada, Iowa, June 12, 1913 aged 69 years, 3 months and 29 days. He came to Iowa as a youth and was reared in the family of John L. Wilson present state senator from Clinton county. He was married in 1866 to Miss Mary Ballard of Ames, and he has spent practically all of his married life in Story county. For many years he lived on his farm in Grant township, and ten years ago last fall he purchased the Frazier homestead west of the creek and moved to Nevada where he has since resided. He is survived by his wife and two sons, Howard and William. His funeral is conducted this afternoon from the residence by Rev. R. E. Graves, formerly of the United Brethern church of Cambridge but now occupying a similar station at Waterloo.
