Richard “Dick” Hillock, 75, of Nevada, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.
Dick was born May 12, 1941, in Waterloo, the son of Robert and Harriett (O’Dell) Hillock. He was united in marriage to Norma Fisk on April 12, 1964, in Waterloo. Dick was a heavy specialist equipment operator and worked for the DOT for almost 10 years. He then held several other jobs before working for the N.A.D.C. in Ames and the Wheelock Service Station.
Dick had lived in Nevada for over 30 years and loved his family, working in his yard and trains. He was a member of Family of Faith Church in Nevada and the Nevada Assembly of God Church where he had served as custodian for over 30 years. After Norma’s death, Dick moved to Bethany Manor in Story City.
Dick is survived by his sons: Kevin Hillock of Story City and Scott (Vicki) Hillock of Nevada; his daughter, Dee Baker of Nevada; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Norma in 2011; and his brothers: Robert and Roger.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 24 at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
