From Nevada Representative May 6, 1913 (front page)

MRS. JOHN CONNOLLY.

Mrs. John Connolly, long a resident of Nevada township and mother of a family well known in the county, died at her home there Sunday morning, and her funeral is conducted today at the Catholic church in Colo by Father Nichols. She was a native of Ireland, came to this country as a girl, was married to Mr. Connolly in Virginia and came with him to the middle west. Mr. Connolly preceded her four years ago, as did her eldest daughter but ten of her twelve children survive to do honor to her memory.

In the same issue of the Nevada Representative on the page captioned:

COLO REPRESENTATIVE

MRS. JOHN CONNOLLY

Mrs. John Connolly died at her home early Sunday morning. She had been in poor health for a long time and about two weeks ago she contracted pneumonia and was very low for several days. Then she seemed to improve for a few days and hopes of recovery were entertained until the latter part of the week when her chronic troubles became worse and in her weakened condition were more than she could stand. Her ten children were all with her. Funeral services were conducted by Father Nichols at St. Mary's church this morning (Tuesday) at 10 o'clock and the remains were laid to rest beside her husband in St. James cemetery. Five sons and one grandson acted as pall bearers. The bereaved family have the heart felt sympathy of the entire community. Obituary will appear later.
