SUDDEN DEATH OF J. ED WALL

FORMER NEVADA MAN DIED FRIDAY AT HIS HOME IN MELBOURNE.

J. E. Wall, 70, for over fifteen years a resident of Nevada and well known over this part of the state, died at his home in Melbourne Friday morning and the funeral services were held Sunday from the Methodist church of Melbourne, after which interment was in Hillside cemetery at State Center.

Paralysis was the cause of death Mr. Wall had suffered a stroke July 22, 1922 and have been bedfast since. Early Friday morning he suffered another stroke which resulted in his death.

Mr. Wall was born October 14, 1852 at Ottawa, Ill., and came to Iowa with his parents when a lad five years of age. He was united in marriage to Susie Huff at Lowden, December 2, 1875 and she continued as his life companion until eleven years ago.

Mr. and Mrs. Wall with the five children came to Nevada from Lowden in 1892 at which time he engaged in the livery business and continued in that line of work during the most of the time of his residence here. It was in 1907 that the family home was changed to State Center, where the wife and mother died and in 1918, he, with his two sons and one daughter moved to Melbourne where they have since resided.

He leaves to mourn his death, besides his six children, an aged mother, Mrs. Almira Wall of Marshalltown and a sister, Mrs. C. F. Cutler of Dead River.

The six children are Mrs. B. A. Carpenter of Eagle Grove, Mrs. E. H. Hilleman of State Center, Mrs. Margaret Buck of Melbourne, Mrs. Dorr Allen of Nevada and Frank and Wayland Wall of Melbourne. There are also eight grandchildren.
