DIED, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. D. H. Padelford, Saturday morning, Dec. 3d, 1887. Mrs. Hannah Horr Pierce, aged 77 years. She came from Chicago to visit her daughter the last of June, and was overtaken with the sickness which terminated fatally, in October. Mrs. Pierce ws a native of Watertown, N. Y. She was married to Mr. Orrin Pierce in 1840. She was reared as a Baptist, but subsequently her religious views changed and she became a Universalist, uniting in 1863 in her native city with the church of her new faith. She leaves five children to mourn her loss, four in Chicago and one in Nevada. Brief funeral services were held at the residence of D. B. Padelford by Rev. Mr. Groat Saturday afternoon after which her remains in the care of her son, John, were taken to Watertown, N. Y. for burial beside the ashes of her kindred. Mr. John Pierce and sister, Mrs. D. B. Padelford and other relatives desire herein to express heartfelt thanks to neighbors and friends for kindly help and sympathy during the recent illness and death of their aged mother, Mrs. Hannah Pierce.
