Joe Stanley, an old soldier, for nearly a quarter of a century a genial helper in the management of the Northwestern Hotel at Cambridge and a familiar figure on the streets of that city, passed away at the Soldiers' Home in Marshalltown last Thursday night. He was a man of good information, had traveled much, and met many distinguished people, observed carefully and was a good conversationalist. His stories of the war were always interesting and often thrilling. His death brings regret to many hearts and among them to that of the senior editor Representative editor.
