A son and daughter of Ike Smith of Boone were down on Wednesday to attend the funeral of their cousin, Mrs. Roy Brouhard, and remained for a few days.
Our neighborhood has received a severe shock in the sudden death of Mrs. Roy Brouhard. Mrs. Grace Smith Brouhard ws born in June 1883 to Mr. and Mrs. Ike Smith and was the sunshine of the home until three years ago when they gave her in marriage to Roy Brouhard. Her gentle loving disposition endeared her to all and she made life a joy to her husband and the two little sons. The children will never realize all they miss in the loss of such a mother. Her sickness was of a short duration. It began on Sunday, January 31, and on Tuesday she passed away. Peritonitis was the fatal disease and it did its work quickly. The bereaved parents and husband have the sincere sympathy of the entire neighborhood.
