Miss Olive McHenry, for many years principal of the Hawthorne School in Des Moines, died at her home in that city, the last of the week, and her funeral was held Monday. All of the schools in West Des Moines were dismissed a part of Monday in honor of the beloved woman. Miss McHenry was instructor in teachers' institutes in Nevada for two or three terms in the early nineties, and has frequently visited friends here, winning through her beauty of mind and character the love of the many whom she met, whether as instructor or friend.
