Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.
Born Beverly Jean Pierson on 28 December 1927 in Chicago, Illinois, Beverly grew up in Sioux City, Iowa, attended North Park College, then Berea College where Beverly met and married her beloved husband, William Walter Marion, in 1954. Working as a home economist while Bill pursued a university degree in Indiana, they later settled in Ames to raise a family of four daughters.
Beverly leaves numerous personal virtues and skills as a legacy to all she loved. She was a thoughtful observer who lived in service to those around her, demonstrating the importance of forming strong relationships, belief in oneself, forgiveness, and the exchange of ideas. Her everyday actions conveyed her intense love for her husband, friends, children, and especially grandchildren. She read widely, loved music and poetry, and excelled in cooking and numerous hand skills, including sewing, knitting, and textiles. She appreciated beauty in nature, especially flowers and birds. She will always be remembered for her letter writing, walks in the rain, and winter picnics.
Following a stroke, Beverly passed peacefully surrounded by her family. Beverly is survived by her husband; her two sisters, Shirley Norberg and Nancy Price; their four daughters, Karen, Rene, Melita Biela, and Nancy; and her two grandchildren, Zachary Marion and Naomi Biela.
