Gary Dean Kingsbury was born May 1, 1957 to Carl R. and Shirlimae J. (Hill) Kingsbury in Ames, Iowa. Gary graduated from Ames High School in 1975 and retired from Danfoss after 38 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially the yearly fishing trips to Canada with "The Men." This was always followed by a fish fry in the fall back home. Gary also enjoyed time spent at the cabin in Missouri, classic cars and attending auctions. His crossbred boar "Buddy" won the Big Boar Competition at the Iowa State Fair in 2009. Above all, Gary loved everything about his grandkids.
Gary passed away at 57 years of age on March 5, 2015 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.
Gary is survived by his wife, Cindy Kingsbury; his son, Jayson (Stacey) Kingsbury and their children, Katelyn and Kyle; his daughter, Amy (Joe) Bottorf and their children, Brittny, Brayden and Blake; two step-children, Krista (Jason) Benson and Scott (Cali) Benson; his brothers, Dennis Kingsbury, Bruce (Diane) Kingsbury and Roger (Freda) Kingsbury; nieces and nephews; and his dogs, Megan and Maggie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Richard Kingsbury in 1970.
