Jerry was born on January 30, 1958 in Iowa City, Iowa to Ronald and Margaret (George) Quillen. He graduated from Roland Story High School in 1977. He has worked in Public Works for the City of Ames and the City of Urbandale. He has lived in Story City and Boone most of his life. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Boone. Jerry was a big sports fan. Past times Jerry enjoyed were bowling, softball, and collecting sports cards. His grandchildren were very important to him.
Jerry Scot Quillen died at the age of 57 years, on March 7, 2015 at his home in Urbandale, Iowa.
Jerry is survived by his mother, Margaret Johnson of Story City, IA; one son, Jeremy Quillen of Boone, IA; three daughters: Melissa (J.J.) Kadolph of Randall, IA, Nicole Quillen of Ames, IA and Crystal (Eric) Heck of Boone, IA; seven grandchildren: Jaxson, Cale, Laila, Preston, Kinsley, Hudson and Colten; four brothers: Joe Quillen of Bagley, IA, Randy (Carol) Quillen of Des Moines, Jim Quillen of Perry, IA and Mark Quillen of Perry, IA; and one sister, Bonnie Watson of Story City, IA.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Quillen.
