Plan rites for Colo physician

Dr. S. B. Goodenow, 82, Colo, died at his home about 12:40 p.m. Thursday.

He had practiced medicine in the Colo community for 55 years.

Dr. Goodenow had been a 50-year member of the Iowa Medical Association and a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, Colo.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; two brothers, John and Russell, both of Battle Creek; three sisters, Mrs. Austin Koch, Id Grove; Helen Goodenow, Iowa City and Mrs. Charles Warswick of Florida and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence, in 1936; a son, Ray Goodenow, Columbus, O., and a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Rash, Arlington Heights, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Methodist Church, Colo, with the Rev. Floyd Newbrough, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Colo cemetery.

A memorial fund will be established. The Brouhard Funeral Home, Zearing, is in charge of arrangements.
