D. C. Peterson, merchant here, died Thursday

David C. Peterson, 60, 1110 Harding Ave., died about 7 p.m. Thursday at Mary Greeley Hospital. Death was attributed to a heart attack.

Born in Ogden, he came to Ames in 1922. He was employed by Carr Hardware until 1955 when he established Peterson Hardware store here.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Elks Lodge and Bethesda Lutheran Church for which he served on the finance commission.

Survivors include his wife, Grayce; two sons, Robert of Enumclaw, Wash. and Richard, Minneapolis; a daughter, Karlyn, Ames; two brothers, Einer of Palo Alto, Calif. and Verne of Ames and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from Bethesda Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Larson, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial is to be in Ames Municipal Cemetery. The Adams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial for the Bethesda Lutheran Church building funds has been established. Gifts my be left at the Ames Trust and Savings Bank.
