INGWALD J. HILL
Ingwald J. Hill, son of Lars and Martha Hill, was born in Norway on April 20, 1882. He came to the United States when he was three years of age.
He was baptized in Norway and confirmed in St. Petri Lutheran Church, Story City. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Roland, for many years and since 1942, has been a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City.
He was married to Elizabeth Nelson on June 19, 1907. They had two sons. Mrs. Hill died in 1913.
Hill farmed near Roland for a number of years. Moving to Story City in 1942, he served as Postmaster for several years. On Feb. 12, 1936, he was married to Severie Torkelson in Story City.
Mr. Hill died at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines on Dec. 22, at the age of 80. He is preceded in death by two brothers and an adopted sister.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Russell, Kittitas, Wash., and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Dec. 24 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City, Pastor Harold T. Masted officiated.
Pallbearers were Casper Torkelson, Wilmer Peter, Richard Eggland, Herschel Williams, Arthur Hovick and James Kaness. Burial was at the Story City Municipal Cemetery.
