Died Upon Farm Where He Lived for Seventy Years
William H. Mills, 75, pioneer northwest Grant township farmer died early today at Mary Greeley hospital, Ames, where he had been for some weeks taking treatments for an infected mastoid and other complications.
Funeral rites for this longtime resident of that part of the country will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Adams Funeral home and burial will be in the Ames cemetery by the side of his wife who passed away in 1924. The body will lie in state at the funeral chapel Saturday afternoon.
Mr. Mills came to Story county with his parents when he was a lad of five years. They settled on the northeast quarter of section 8, Grant township and there the deceased had lived continuously since.
Since th death of Mrs. Mills the daughters Sadie and Marie had remained with the father and looked after the home.
The only son is Harry Mills of 1236 Fourth street, who has for the past six years of more served as deputy sheriff.
