Coronary attack is fatal for Clifford Buffington, 58

Clifford Buffington, 58, died at his home north of Colo on Sunday, May 2, of a heart attack. He had been ill for the past seven years.

He was born on Feb. 16, 1913 in Story County.

Mr. Buffington was serving as president of the Pony Pulling Association and had been very active in the sport of horsepulling.

Survivors include his wife Ann; a daughter, Karol at home; four sons, Krandel and Michael at home, Gary of Colo and Virgil, Nevada; six grandchildren - LuAnn, Dean, Patty, Sandra, Joe and Andrea; five sisters and one brother.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Buffington; son Darwin, who died in 1941; two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colo of which he was a member.

Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery.

Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the home north of Colo.

Brouhard's Funeral Home in Zearing is in charge of funeral arrangements.
