Ralph E. Gerlach died Wednesday morning at Mary Greeley

NEVADA -- Ralph E. Gerlach, 74, of 905 E Ave., died Wednesday morning at Mary Greeley Hospital to Ames where he had a patient for the past three days.

Services will be held from the Ryan Funeral Home here on Saturday, March 30 at 10 a.m. Rev. Edgar Kurt will officiate with burial in the Nevada Cemetery.

Born Nov. 14, 1901 in Letart, West Va., Gerlach had been a Story County resident for the past 47 years and was a retired farmer at the time of his death. He married Virginia Baxter in 1924.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia; one son, Robert of Nevada; one daughter, Mrs. Bonnie (Dale) Knutson of Ames; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers and sisters.
