VIRGINIA GERLACH

Virginia Gerlach, 84, of 805 Hunziker Dr., Ames IA, died Monday, July 28, 1986, at North Grand Care Center, Ames.

She was born Nov. 19, 1901, in Chester WV to Chalmers and Catherine (Gillen) Baxter. She married Ralph Gerlach June 20, 1924, in Akron OH.

Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, July 31, at 10 a.m., at St. Cecelia's Catholic Church in Ames. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery, Nevada IA.

Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Knutson of Ames; a son, Robert, of Granger IA; a brother; Robert, of Phoenix AZ; nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, he husband, one brother and one sister.

Mrs. Gerlach lived in Nevada 47 years. She and her husband formerly owned and operated Gerlach Supply.

Memorials may be sent to St. Cecelia's Catholic Church.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 30, from 3-9 p.m. at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. There will be a scripture reading at 7 p.m.
