Jewelry founder dead at 79

LINVILLE WHITE

Funeral services will be held from the Ryan Funeral Home Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Gehrald Reisen officiating for Linville R. (L.R.) White, 1471 F Ave., Nevada who died Thursday evening at Story County Hospital. He was 79.

Born September 1, 1895, he was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth White of Nelson, Missouri. he had been the jeweler at White's Jewelry Store in Nevada and a resident of this community for the past 41 years.

He was married to Mable Tod on August 7, 1923 in Alba, Missouri and was a member of Central Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the Nevada Masonic Lodge, the American Legion, and a charter member of the Nevada Lions Club.

L.R. White is survived by his wife; one son, Jim of Nevada; two daughters, Mrs Robert (Sandra) Leeper of Nevada and Mrs. Wendell (Betty) Johnson of Clear Lake; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Munger and Mrs. Fyrne Leaton of Sedalia, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday evening.
