Lesta Lobaugh

Long-time Nevada resident Lesta Lobaugh passed away on Monday, February 24.

Lesta ws born in West Plains, Missouri, to Ethel and G. B. Sorensen on Nov. 18, 1931. After graduating from Little Rock High School in 1949. Lesta moved to Nevada to work for her uncle's dry cleaning business. Soon after her move, she met and fell in love with Phillip Lobaugh. On Christmas Eve 1950, the couple eloped, Phil traveling from Camp Pendleton, California, to meet up with Lesta on the train trip to Arkansas. Upon his discharge from the Marine Corps. The couple moved back to the family farm northeast of Nevada, where the family raised five children. Lesta worked at Bourns Incorporated for 23 years until her retirement in 1990. The couple moved to town in 1983. Lesta enjoyed completing puzzles and reading, as well as spoiling her grandchildren.

Lesta is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Phillip; her parents, and three sisters. She is survived by five children: LeAnn (Clark) Howland, Cheryl (Shawn) Jacobson, Kirk (kellie) Lobaugh, Debra Weltha, and Eric (Diane) Lobaugh. She was the proud grandmother to ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
