Nick Kruse dies, rites Thursday

Nick Kruse, 63, who had managed the Wilson Farms at Nevada for the past 34 years and worked at the Iowa State Agronomy department for the past four, died Sunday evening [June 29, 1969] in Story County Hospital where he had been a patient for the past week following a stroke.

Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Lutheran Church with the Rev. Harry Myklebust officiating.

Mr. Kruse leaves his wife, Marie, whom he married March 15, 1931 in Heide, Germany. He also leaves a son, Robert Kruse, Thomson, Ga.; nephew, John Thiel, Nevada; two brothers and three sisters in Germany.

He was born Jan. 23, 1906 in Rickelshof, Germany and was a member of the Lutheran Church Board. He also was treasurer of the Farm Bureau for 10 years.
