Funeral Services for Harriett Brennan
Funeral services for Harriet Brennan, 17, who died at Marshalltown Tuesday, were held at St. Mary's church, Colo, Thursday morning, with her pastor, Rev. Daniel A. Gorman in charge. Interment was in St. James cemetery at Colo.
Harriet Brennan, daughter of Richard and Mary Brennan was born on a farm south of Colo, Jan. 5, 1917, and departed this life at Marshalltown, Iowa, June 26, 1934, age 17 years, 5 months and 21 days. She passed away very suddenly from heart attack.
She graduated from Colo high school with the class of '34 of which she was an honor student. She then entered business college, Central Iowa--at Marshalltown, which she attended until her death.
All that loving hearts and willing hands could do was to no avail!
She leaves to mourn her passing her mother, two cousins, Sister Mary Zseta and Sister Mary Pierr of Council Bluffs and a host of friends.
The church was filled to capacity with sorrowing friends. The class of '34 attended in a body. The pall bearers consisted of six boys of her class. Flower girls were chosen from her class.
Harriet was very highly respected by her class and high school faculty as well as her new friends at Marshalltown business college.

Judge E. M. McCall and Mrs. Allen Sowers of Fort Dodge, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Larson and two sons, Mrs. Lew Larson and son of Huxley, Mrs. Phillip Allen of Nevada, Sister Mary Zseta and Sister Mary Pierr of Council Bluffs, and a host of friends from Ames, Nevada and Marshalltown.
