Oxley services are Tuesday

Carl Oxley, 81, 1120 Fourth St. died Sunday [March 29, 1970] at 8:30 a.m. at Mary Greeley Hospital. he had been in ill health for about one week.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. from Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. E. F. Peters of Calvary United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery.

Born Dec. 4, 1888 at Union City, Ind., he came to Nevada in 1913. After farming in the Nevada area, Mr. Oxley moved to Ames in 1938. He had been a construction worker employed by Charles Aikin.

Mr. Oxley was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel; two sons, Everett of Sacramento, Calif. and Forrest of Ames; a brother, Edward of Richmond, Ind.; two sisters, Mrs. Nora Hunt of Richmond, Ind. and Mrs. Fannie Rauch of Farmland, Ind.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Oxley Ross in 1965.

The Adams Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
